The side pockets sit high enough that they don't bounce when she trots, and the harness straps are padded just right for a full day on the trail. We loaded it with water and a snack for a five-mile hike and she didn't try to wiggle out once.

Took this out on a long weekend hike and the backpack held up perfectly, the harness design kept it snug even when my dog was scrambling over rocks. He didn't even try to roll it off once, which is a win in my book.
