Carry a spare pair of these in the hiking pack now, they're built exactly to spec so the harness fits like it did on day one. Took about two minutes to swap out and the stitching looks just as solid as the originals.
The hardware clicks into place with a satisfying snap, so the fit is snug and secure. I'd been worried about the old ones wearing out, but these match perfectly and it took me under five minutes to swap them out.
My dog's harness feels solid again now that I've put these on, and the fit is exactly like the originals so no fiddling around trying to adjust anything. It's nice that they're sold as a spare part instead of forcing me to buy a whole new harness when just the straps wore down.
